Piper Navajo

About this aircraft

The Panther is the Colemill conversion of the Piper PA-31 Navajo. The factory engines are replaced with a pair of 350 hp turbocharged Lycoming TIO-540-J2B powerplants, turning four-blade Hartzell Q-Tip propellers, with redesigned nosebowl cowlings and optional winglets. The result is meaningfully more climb and cruise performance from an airframe with proven economics.

On regional legs this is what a light jet cannot do: short, unpaved and high-elevation strips, at a fraction of the hourly cost, carrying a genuine payload. It is the reason the type stayed in service long after Piper left the cabin-class piston twin market.
